FAREWELL TO ARMS ABOARD THE VOYAGER
"If a man does not make new acquaintance as he advances through life, he will soon find himself left alone. A man, Sir, should keep his friendships in constant repair".
Samuel Johnson 1784 British Lexicographer
Thank you new and old friends and staff too! I have learned friends are the sunshine of life and certainly a master piece of nature. We sailed over 6,854 nautical miles together- that's a whole lot of wine (expensive and cheap), dinners (most good, some not so), entertainment (of each other!), dancing (go Platters), Karaoke-NOT!, excursions (not to be forgotten those jumping Crocs), earthquakes, tsunamis, radiation floating around, a rough sea or two and tons of toilet paper! And some of us catching a coody or two and sharing our drugs. What a blessing to meet such distinguished, fabulous and fun people from all over the dang map-Canada, Australia, Spain, California and even New Joisey to name a few! AND OUR PERSONAL FAVORITE - THE TEXANS. Bubba's cup of java! I won't forget, Larry taught me 101 Ways To Get My Grape On. Pudge promised the boat bloat will disappear back home in Florida.
And fabulous Pat is all about no pretense- you go Woodbridge babe! While our own Christy Minstrel, Mickey, kept us in stitches all day- Ruth made sure Trivia and Bridge were competitive events and showed us that friends from many years ago can strike up quite the romance in a later chapter of life.
One of my personal absolute favorites, John, shared his final bit of wisdom while we Cruised the Yellow Sea today....."Boca, as we get older we sometimes being to doubt our ability to "make a difference" in the world. It is at these times that our hopes are boosted by the remarkable achievement of other "seniors" who have found the courage tot take on challenges that would make many of us wither. I, John, am such a person".
So quench your curiosity and join us on the next SAIL AWAY CRUISE.
God Bless and safe travels home.
Happy Trails,
Boca and Bubba and the Pleepster!
